It's these seasonal blooms that you really have to get there at the perfect time.
...and then there's finding where they actually are.

But when you eventually spot them, just look how gorgeous they stand!
Since I live in Sheffield and I really wanted to see these bluebells in the forest, I looked up a few places in the midlands to go for bluebells hunting. You can find more info on where to find them near you here. Some friends and I rented a car and drove east to Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire. The entry fee per car was £6.00 and the park was hugeeeee (It covers approx. 4000 acres). We walked along lakes while having ice-cream on a nice hot day and walked through some woodlands in search for the vibrant purple-blue carpets of bluebells.

To be honest, it was rather disappointing because they were not to be seen in large carpets in the woodland areas. There were, some patches here and there, but they don't look really that captivating in small groups. We kept on walking until we all got tired searching, so we decided to make our way back to the car. Only then, we managed to spot a small area at a corner where these purple beauty spread enchantingly.







We drove through a nice little town nearby before we made a stop at Roseberry Lane, parked our car and walked up into the wood. The view along this walk was a beautiful one too - there were rapeseed plantings with the distinctive Roseberry Topping hill in the background.



But again with the disappointment, the bluebells were not fully-bloomed yet. There were these large carpets of them just waiting to bloom, so we really couldn't capture nice photos because the colour were not all that vibrant against the green grass. This was because bluebells tends to bloom earlier in the south and then gradually up north. So since we were searching for them in the north, they don't seemed to have bloomed quite yet.

But, we were there... and this was how they looked like.


I'm tellin' ya, if they've all had fully-bloomed, this whole forest would have looked fantastic and so magical! There were literally vast areas of bluebells everywhere you turn!
