EXPLORE LONDON : SKY GARDEN

15:07:00

If you're coming to London for the first time, you'd obviously want to visit its popular landmarks and attractions such as the Tower Bridge, London Eye, the Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, etc.

But if you have more time to spend in London, I would recommend checking this place out -  The Sky Garden. Located at 20 Fenchurch Street, the Sky Garden is open to public and offers the most magnificent 360 view of London for free! Dedicated to 3 floors for commercial/social purposes (Floor 35 - Sky Pod Bar; Floor 36 - Darwin Brasserie; Floor 37 - Fenchchurch Restaurant), the Sky Garden is the highest garden in London which offers views of some of London's iconic landmark such as the Tower Bridge, London Bridge, The Shard, The Gherkin and also St. Paul's Cathedral.

The Sky Garden is located on the 35th floor and is accessible by lift. The space consist of an indoor beautifully landscaped garden where you can wander around the exquisite greenery, and also a bar (The Sky Pod Bar) for you to have a drink while enjoying your view. Views can be seen from inside through the vast glass windows and from the outdoor open air terrace. Toilet facilities are also provided.

To gain access to the Sky Garden, you will have to make an online booking in advance as the tickets and visitor access are very limited per day. Bookings can be made here.

Thank God it was a nice sunny day when we visited the Sky Garden, hence the perfect city view against the clear blue sky.

We visited once again and this time we wanted to see the City of London during night time. We came just in time for dusk and managed to see shades of dusk before the sun fully set. It was a very windy evening but the view made it all worth it.

The lounge was lit in vibrant pink lighting which made the night even more exclusive of a social space. The ambient and views this place offers is definitely equally as good as the paid attraction!

Getting there: I went using the (Underground) Tube; the closest stop to the tower is Monument. You'll just have to walk for a mere 5-7 minutes from the Tube station. The entrance to the Sky Garden is located at the rear side of the building, so make sure you walk through the side to the back of the building. More info on how to get there here

Opening times: Monday to Friday: 10.00am - 6.00pm. Saturday & Sunday: 11.00am - 9.00pm

Fee: Free.
