EXPLORE LONDON: NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

05:04:00

I recently went to London to renew my passport and Fizal and I stayed in London for 3 days; enough for us to wander around London, do a little bit of shopping, trying out new restaurants and food, and go to places we've never been before - the Natural History Museum was no exception.

Usually (and honestly), I'm not very fond of museums, but there were 2 main things that intrigued me about this museum;

1 - The huge dinosaur bone sculpture!
2 - The mesmerising Hogwarts-like architecture and interior. :)

The architecture of this building was inspired by the Romanesque cathedral...

...adorned by colourful terracotta blocks, which created a majestic piece of art.

The main entrance to the museum.

The museum has 4 main zones that exhibits gigantic dinosaur (and animal - to scale!) sculptures and specimens, fossils, the earth's compositions, and also features other life forms and their environments.
(Info on galleries here)

Details: dramatic interior walls on every sides and corners.

Definitely a must go if you admire beautiful architecture...

Getting there: It's quite easy to reach by Tube - stop at the South Kensington station. You then have to walk for about 5 minutes through a tunnel from the tube station which will lead straight to one of the museum gates. More info on other means of transportation to get to the museum here.

Opening times: 10.00am - 5.30pm.

Fee: Free (charges may apply for temporary exhibitions).
